A sweet delight that can’t be missed is the lovely and delicate Sicilian pastry.  Once called the “Diplomat” because a similar cake was sent as a gift from a diplomat of the Duchy of Parma in 1454.

Made in the shape of square cake and cut into smaller squares to be served as a kind of pastry portion, is always a delight to taste a piece because it combines the delicacy and softness of the sponge cake with the crunchiness of the puff pastry.
